Synopsis

A nostalgic reflection on childhood solitude and passion, where a shy boy finds comfort and joy in collecting plastic model kits from a specialty store, despite his mother's teasing remarks about his unusual hobby.

My Little World

I've always called my little pastime my 'small world.' Back in middle school, I would run to the plastic model shop with my pocket money tightly crumpled together, saved up for several months.

The display shelves filled with model airplanes and miniature soldier figures had captured my entire childhood imagination.

My mother would point at me and say, 'A boy playing with that? Ppando-kkaebi (a regional Gyeongsang dialect term for make-believe play)? Oh, how strange...'

But even so, I didn't care one bit.

Given my particularly timid personality and introverted nature, those miniature models were my only friends, and my greatest joy in life.
