Welcome to Smutlore. These Terms govern your access to and use of Smutlore, including websites, reader features, author tools, moderation tools, emails, and related services. By accessing or using Smutlore, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Smutlore.

Adult-Only Service

Smutlore is an adults-only service. You may use it only if you are at least 18 years old and legally permitted to access adult-oriented written fiction where you live or access the service. You must not use Smutlore if you are under 18, barred by local law, subject to a legal restriction, or previously banned without written permission.

Age gates and account controls do not replace your responsibility to comply with local law.

Service Description

Smutlore hosts and organizes adult written fiction in English, Spanish, and Russian. Phase 1 is primarily a reading platform with operator-controlled publishing and role-gated author access. Public self-service author signup, subscriptions, tipping, user image/video upload, and payouts are not currently part of the service. Additional terms may apply if those features launch.

Accounts

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure and for all activity under your account. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts if we believe a user violated these Terms, the Content Policy, law, third-party rights, platform integrity, or safety requirements.

User and Author Content

“User Content” means anything you submit, upload, write, import, publish, report, tag, message, or otherwise provide to Smutlore. “Author Content” means User Content submitted for publication as a story, chapter, synopsis, tag, profile, or related author material.

You retain ownership of content you own. By submitting User Content, you grant Smutlore a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, reproduce, display, format, index, excerpt, distribute, transmit, make available, moderate, remove, and technically process that content to operate, promote, secure, and improve the service. For Author Content, this includes displaying works to readers, generating slugs and metadata, showing previews, including works in search/rankings/sitemaps/recommendations, and preserving moderation and audit records.

This license ends when content is deleted from public service, except that we may retain copies as reasonably necessary for backups, legal compliance, disputes, security, moderation records, DMCA records, fraud prevention, or enforcement.

Your Promises

By submitting content, you represent that you are at least 18; you own or have permission to submit the content; the content does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, moral, contract, or other rights; every sexual character is an adult and not described or implied as under 18; the content does not include illegal sexual content, bestiality, real-person non-consensual sexual content, doxxing, threats, or instructions for serious harm; and the content complies with the Content Policy and applicable law.

Prohibited Conduct

You must not access the service while underage or legally prohibited; submit or request illegal content; submit sexual content involving minors, including fictional, stylized, implied, “barely legal,” or minor-coded depictions; submit real-person non-consensual sexual content or sexualized content about an identifiable person without lawful consent; infringe intellectual property; scrape or mirror the service without permission; bypass age gates, security, moderation, or access controls; interfere with service operation; harass, threaten, impersonate, dox, or exploit others; or use Smutlore for unlawful transactions, trafficking, exploitation, or abuse.

Moderation and Enforcement

We may review, scan, classify, restrict, delist, quarantine, remove, or refuse content at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts and preserve records where legally necessary. We may act on automated signals, human review, user reports, rights-holder notices, partner requirements, law-enforcement requests, or legal obligations. We are not required to host any content.

If content appears to involve minors, exploitation, or serious illegal material, we may remove or quarantine it and report it to appropriate authorities where required or permitted.

Copyright and Repeat Infringers

Smutlore respects copyright. The DMCA/Copyright Policy explains takedown notices and counter-notices. We may terminate accounts or author access for repeat infringement and may also terminate for a single serious violation.

Payments, Ads, and Third Parties

Phase 1 does not include reader payments, subscriptions, tipping, or author payouts. If payments launch, additional payment, tax, KYC, refund, payout, and processor terms will apply. Smutlore may show advertising and use infrastructure, analytics, email, hosting, security, CDN, scanner, and other providers. Third-party services may process data under their own terms and privacy notices.

Disclaimers and Liability

Smutlore is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted service, error-free operation, continued availability of content, or suitability for your expectations. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Smutlore and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, or service interruption. Total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Smutlore in the three months before the claim or USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits.

Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Smutlore and its operators from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your content, use of the service, violation of these Terms, or violation of law or third-party rights.

Termination, Law, and Changes

You may stop using Smutlore at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access for safety, legal, operational, or policy reasons. Provisions that by nature should survive termination survive.

These Terms are governed by TO CONFIRM — pending counsel, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in TO CONFIRM — pending counsel, except where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise. Counsel should decide whether to add arbitration, class-action waiver, small-claims carveout, and international consumer-law carveouts.

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated Terms.
