Smutlore is an adults-only written-fiction platform. This Content Policy applies to stories, chapters, titles, synopses, tags, author profiles, comments, reports, and any other submitted content.

Core Rule

All sexual content on Smutlore must involve fictional adult characters who are at least 18 and who are not described, coded, or presented as minors. If a character reads as underage, the content is not allowed even if the text later claims the character is 18.

Absolutely Prohibited

The following may result in removal, quarantine, account termination, and reports to authorities where required or appropriate: sexual content involving anyone under 18, appearing under 18, described as under 18, or coded as under 18; sexualized depictions of minors in any medium, including written, fictional, stylized, “barely legal,” school-age, incest-with-minor, age-regression, or ambiguous-age material; content that solicits, promotes, normalizes, instructs, or facilitates child sexual abuse or exploitation; real-person non-consensual sexual content, including deepfakes, revenge porn, voyeurism, hidden-camera content, or sexualized content about an identifiable person without lawful consent; real non-consensual acts presented as real, including sexual assault, coercion, trafficking, exploitation, blackmail, intoxication-based inability to consent, or abuse of custody/care; sexual content between blood relatives, whatever the stated ages — parent and child, siblings, grandparent and grandchild, aunt or uncle and niece or nephew — which Smutlore excludes outright rather than treating as a taboo theme; bestiality or sexual content involving animals; doxxing, threats, extortion, stalking, or encouragement of violence; copyright infringement; instructions for serious harm or illegal transactions; and any content illegal in jurisdictions where Smutlore operates or must restrict access.

Fictional Consent and Dark Themes

Smutlore allows fictional adult erotic works involving dark romance, power dynamics, BDSM, roleplay and taboo themes when the characters are clearly adults, the work is fictional, the required warnings are applied, and the work does not eroticize minors or real abuse.

Consent within a work must be legible. Where a work presents a sexual encounter in which a character's consent is absent, ambiguous, or obtained through incapacity, coercion, deception, or abuse of authority, and the work presents that as real rather than as an agreed fantasy between adults who have established it, Smutlore does not publish it. This is stricter than the law of most jurisdictions and stricter than "consensual non-consent" as the term is generally used online, and it is deliberate: ambiguity is resolved against publication.

Smutlore may remove or withhold content that is too ambiguous to classify, too risky for the requirements of advertising and payment partners, or inconsistent with platform standards, whether or not it is lawful.

How Content Is Screened

Nothing publishes on Smutlore without passing screening first. This section describes what actually runs, so that a reader, a reporter, or a partner can hold us to it.

Every work is read before publication by an independent panel of automated classifiers, which must agree before a work proceeds. Their verdict routes each work to one of four outcomes: publish, publish after correction, hold for a human, or exclude.

A set of hard exclusions sits above that panel and cannot be overridden by it. Where a work carries a signal of a minor, of sexual content between blood relatives, or of consent that is absent or ambiguous, it cannot reach the publish route no matter what the panel concluded — the classifiers can only agree with the exclusion, never past it. A separate deterministic scanner runs on the finished text as a backstop, and where it finds material indicating a minor the text is quarantined and destroyed rather than corrected.

Works routed to "hold" are not published while they wait. A person reviews them and records a reason for whatever they decide.

These are engineering controls and they are not perfect. They are designed so that the errors they do make fall on the side of withholding a lawful work rather than publishing an unlawful one, and so that a mistake in either direction leaves a record that can be found and corrected.

Provenance Of The Current Catalogue

Smutlore's launch catalogue is not open author submission. It is a curated set of works licensed from their original authors, translated and published with permission, and the operator holds a record of that permission for each work. Author accounts and open submission are a later stage; when they open, the screening above applies to submitted work in the same way, together with the identity and age requirements in the § 2257 statement.

Warnings and Metadata

Authors must label content accurately. Smutlore may add, change, or require metadata including explicit rating, genre, tags, content warnings, language, series/chapter structure, and publication status. Current warning codes include: explicit, power-dynamics, violence, strong-language, alcohol, grief.

Evasion

You may not evade this policy through euphemisms, spelling changes, fictional labels for minor-coded characters, disclaimers that contradict the story, off-platform links, images, coded tags, or metadata that hides content.

Rights and AI-Assisted Content

Only submit content you wrote, own, commissioned with proper rights, licensed, or otherwise have permission to publish. Translations, adaptations, fan works, scraped works, and AI-assisted works must not infringe third-party rights. If AI tools are used to translate, format, or assist content, the submitter remains responsible for legality, rights, accuracy, and compliance.

Reports and Appeals

Report content through info@smutlore.com with the URL, issue, and supporting information. We may remove content immediately, send it to review, quarantine suspected serious illegal material, restrict discoverability, update warnings, suspend author privileges, terminate accounts, preserve records, and report to authorities where required. Appeals may be sent to info@smutlore.com.

Partner Restrictions

Advertising, payment, hosting, search, app-store, or CDN partners may impose stricter requirements than law. Smutlore may restrict otherwise lawful content to preserve service availability.
