“Ah, ah—”
Every time the warm, slick slide of his tongue grazed her skin, Yeohui couldn’t stifle her moans.
Her entire body trembled, unraveling into a quivering mess.
When the door to the bathhouse opened and she stepped out, Unsim was nowhere to be seen.
But there was no time to search for her.
Returning straight from the bathhouse to the inner chambers, she found the bridal bed already prepared.
When she’d left the room earlier, the bedding had been neatly folded away—yet now, as if someone had known exactly what would happen, the futon was fully spread out once more.
The bed was ready. Only one thing remained.
Undressing again didn’t take long.
Both Yeohui and Sooyoon quickly shed their clothes and climbed onto the bedding.
Then Sooyoon climbed atop her.
Had he left his pants on because he didn’t want to show her his severed testicles?
Even though she’d seen his naked body in the steam just moments ago, she hadn’t noticed any testicles between his legs—only his dangling penis.
So it was true. He had been castrated.
She felt foolish for even briefly doubting whether he was a fake eunuch.
But what did it matter, even if he had no testicles?
As Sooyoon had said, there were other ways to satisfy her—more than enough.
“Ah, ah! My lord, my lord!”
Yeohui trembled under Sooyoon’s touch, her hips swaying helplessly.
Her nipple throbbed where his lips had been.
He’d sucked it relentlessly until it stood erect, deep red and swollen.
But his lips and tongue hadn’t stopped at her breasts.
They had roamed her neck, her earlobes, every inch of her skin, leaving trails of wet heat.
Each time his mouth moved, moisture pooled between her thighs.
She remembered how, in the bathhouse, his hand had touched her womanhood—and the memory only heightened her arousal.
She expected his hand again.
What does a eunuch use? His fingers, of course.
She had no doubt that those thick, calloused fingers would soon be inside her once more.
“Ah!”
Sooyoon grabbed her legs and spread them wide. The sudden exposure stole her breath.
In the bathhouse, she hadn’t been so openly exposed like this.
It was still broad daylight.
Even though this was their bridal chamber and they were newlyweds, baring herself so shamelessly made her cheeks burn with embarrassment.
Then something wet pressed against her inner thighs.
“M-My lord…!”
She gasped when she realized it was his tongue.
Her breath came in ragged pants as his tongue began to lap at her most intimate place.
“Do you know what a eunuch uses?” Sooyoon teased, his voice low and wicked.
But this time, Yeohui had no breath left to answer.
Just breathing felt like a struggle.
Sooyoon’s fingers parted her labia, left and right. Then his tongue slid forward, thick and wet, licking deep into her slick folds.
“Ah! Ahhh—!”
She arched her back, crying out in ecstasy.
“Ah! Ah! Ah—!”
Her body thrashed violently on the bedding.
Each time his slippery tongue pressed and rubbed against her swollen nub, her wet lips quivered lewdly, trembling with pleasure.
“They say a eunuch’s tongue moves like a snake—not just when slandering others, but in moments like this as well.”
Yeohui didn’t know if his tongue truly moved like a snake.
How could she? She’d never even seen a real snake.
But if Sooyoon said so, then perhaps it was true.
“Haaah! Ah! Aaaaaah!”
Her cries rose higher as he sucked her entire sex into his mouth, devouring her.
Each time his tongue writhed inside her, probing deeper, the wet, squelching sounds echoed in her ears until she felt deafened by them.
“Ah, haaah! Haaah, ah, ah, aaaaah!”
She thrashed her hips wildly, moaning without restraint, her entire body consumed by searing heat.
Then, suddenly, her thighs convulsed. Her waist and hips trembled violently.
She had reached her peak.
At that moment, a clear fluid gushed from her open womanhood.
She didn’t know what it was, but she sensed it was connected to the intense pleasure she’d just experienced.
“Haa… haa…”
Panting, Yeohui closed her eyes.
Good heavens. It feels this good? I’ve never felt anything like this.
Her body felt as if it were floating on clouds.
She didn’t want this light, drifting sensation to end—so she kept her eyes shut.
But then she startled and opened them again.
“Lord?”
She thought it was over—but now his fingers were approaching her still-damp sex.
“Since we didn’t consummate last night, we must make up for both yesterday and today.”
But it’s still daytime?
There’s still night left?
“Do you know why His Majesty granted us three full days?”
How would she know? She wasn’t the king.
“He gave us three nights and three days—not just nights—because he meant for us to do this both day and night. We mustn’t disobey the king’s command.”
He was good with words. After all, he’d once entered the palace only to be turned away when the gates closed behind him.
“One time with the tongue, one time with the hand—only then is it fair.”
She didn’t understand what was “fair” about it, but as his fingers began rubbing her once more, her hips jerked and twitched with renewed heat.
“Ah, uh, uhhn, hnnn…”
With her knees raised and spread, Yeohui panted, breathless and flushed.
His fingers slid into her already soaked passage.
They plunged in with a wet squelch, scraped against her inner walls, then pulled out—only to plunge back in again, over and over.
Her legs trembled violently.
Her body, already brought to climax once, quickly spiraled toward another.
Overcome by sharp, electric pleasure, Yeohui flailed like a fish pulled from water, crying out in ecstasy.
Heat bloomed across her entire body, bursting like flowers in flame.
“It’s time for the bath, my lady.”
Unsim guided Yeohui to the bathhouse, barely hiding her smile.
This wasn’t the same bathhouse where she’d met Sooyoon earlier.
Yeohui knew Unsim had changed the location on purpose.
But thanks to Unsim, she’d finally consummated her marriage.
“Here, my lady. I’ve filled the tub with warm water. Don’t come out until your body feels completely relaxed. You must soak until your bones soften, or the fatigue won’t leave you.”
Unsim personally undressed Yeohui and helped her into the wooden bath.
As Yeohui stepped in, the water sloshed over the edge with a splash.
“It’s warm.”
Yeohui sighed, sinking into the heat.
She had never, in her life, soaked in such a large tub filled with such warm water.
Even when her family boiled water, it was always for her father and brother.
She had to wash her hair and body quickly in cold water—or in winter, in lukewarm water mixed with just a little hot.
Fetching water was hard enough, and firewood was too precious to waste. A full tub of hot water was a luxury she’d only seen in paintings.
“How are you feeling, my lady?”
“Lethargic. So good it feels strange.”
“Isn’t it?”
Unsim poured hot water over Yeohui’s shoulders.
“Shall I scrub your back, my lady?”
“No, it’s fine, sister.”
“You don’t know how lucky you are to have married Lord Kim. A kind man like him…”
“Sister.”
Yeohui suddenly remembered something and turned to Unsim.
“Yes, my lady? Do you need something?”
“Why does Lord Kim call you ‘older sister’?”
“Oh, that…”
“Was it because he served in the Secret Police before becoming a eunuch?”
“He told you that much?”
“I didn’t hear the details.”
“He’ll explain everything to you later, my lady.”
“But I’m curious now… Is it a secret?”
“Not at all.”
Unsim smiled gently.
“As you’ve heard, Lord Kim once worked in the Secret Police, where he took lives. When he was hungry, he’d always come to our house to eat. He said my cooking was the best.
It’s hard to believe—he said that when our family was so poor. All we could serve was barley rice mixed half with beans and sweet potatoes, and a single side dish of thick soybean paste. Yet he came every evening, eating his fill.
Then one day, he stopped coming. Later, I found out he’d entered the palace to serve the king. After he bought this house, he brought my husband and me here—gave my husband the role of steward, and asked me to manage the household.
Our family owes him everything. He’d always called me ‘older sister’ even back then, and the habit stuck. Please understand, my lady.”
Whether through Kim Sooyoon’s own words or through Unsim’s, one thing was clear: the more Yeohui learned about this man, the more she realized he was strange—and yet, undeniably good.
People usually forgot their past once they rose in status.
Many tried to erase their poverty or avoid those they once knew.
But Kim Sooyoon was clearly a man who remembered kindness.
That was why he’d brought Unsim and her husband here—because they’d once given him a warm meal.
She didn’t need to hear it from anyone else to know he was a good man.
She was curious about who had introduced her to such a man—but since he said he’d tell her later, she could wait.
“He was a nobleman’s illegitimate son—why did he join the Secret Police?”
Yeohui stirred the water, voicing another question.
“Sister?”
But Unsim didn’t answer right away.
Did I ask something too difficult?
Yeohui turned her head—only to see not Unsim, but Sooyoon himself.
“M-My lord?”
She hadn’t noticed when Unsim had left and Sooyoon had arrived.
The sound of the water had drowned out the door opening, closing, and his footsteps.
“W-When did you come?”
Just moments ago, they’d been tangled together in the bridal chamber—and now, seeing his face again, her ears burned.
Was it the hot water making her flush? Or was it the sight of him?
“It’s true I was a nobleman’s illegitimate son—but not all illegitimate sons are treated the same. I couldn’t live in my father’s household.”
Sooyoon rolled up his sleeves and calmly poured hot water over Yeohui’s shoulders.
Then he began scrubbing her back with his own hands.
“My mother was the daughter of a butcher. My father took her—almost by force—and she bore me. But how could a butcher’s daughter become a nobleman’s concubine? With so many watching, my father couldn’t bring her into his home. He couldn’t acknowledge me as his son, either.
I don’t even know what my father’s house looked like. I was born in a butcher’s house in a village, and I grew up there—half noble, half outcast—sleeping, eating, living in a cramped room with my cousins.”
His voice was so calm that Yeohui realized he didn’t feel shame about his past.
Most people would avoid speaking of such things.
But in his voice, she heard something else—longing.
This man missed that small, crowded butcher’s house where he’d lived with his cousins.
“As the years passed, I grew older. I couldn’t stay in my uncle’s house forever, so I began thinking of leaving. Around that time, my mother fell ill and passed away.
I considered it a blessing. With her gone, I could finally leave my uncle’s house and live on my own. And with her death, I also cast off my identity as a half-noble, half-outcast illegitimate son.
On the day I left my uncle’s house, I went to my father’s estate, bowed three times, and told him I would never return. I’ve never set foot there since.
To me, my father is a dead man. To him, I am a dead son. Our bond as parent and child is severed. After that, I wandered the streets until I joined the Secret Police. I’d grown up watching my uncle wield a knife, so I was skilled with a blade. At least I could eat.”
The hand scrubbing her back was rough.
He hadn’t suffered since becoming a eunuch—yet his palms remained coarse.
It was because the years he’d lived had been harsh.
He’d lived too roughly for too long. The hardship etched into his hands wouldn’t fade easily.
“The pay for killing people was generous, so I didn’t live in poverty. But eating among untrustworthy men—how could that food go down? Food should be shared with good people.
So I’d noticed a house where laughter often spilled over the fence. One day, I brought a pound of beef, climbed over the wall, and demanded a bowl of rice. Most would scream, ‘Who the hell are you?’ But your sister—she had such a kind heart. She brought me an extra bowl and told me to eat my fill.
Was I grateful? Of course I was.
I’m a man who remembers kindness. I vowed to repay her one day. I even told her, ‘If you ever need someone killed, just say the word—I’ll do it for free.’ But what trouble could she possibly have? Right?”
Yeohui suddenly remembered the conversation she’d had with this man in the bathhouse earlier.
She’d told him that coincidence was just the result of the path one had walked.
It was true.
Was there really such a thing as coincidence?
No.
There wasn’t.
The path you walked, the footprints you left—those were what eventually led to fate.
You just didn’t know the footprints, so it seemed like coincidence.
But in truth, you were always meant to meet on that path.
This man, Unsim, and herself.
“That day, I was on my way to kill someone when I heard sword clashes near Unjong Gate. It wasn’t unusual—sword fights often broke out there at night. I was about to pass by when I saw a young, well-dressed scholar in danger.
The men protecting him were all cut down. Just as a blade was about to reach his throat, I drew my sword, drove off the attackers—and realized the scholar was the Crown Prince’s aide.
Funny, isn’t it? That’s how fate brought us together.”
Sooyoon chuckled softly.
His voice, the warmth of the water, the gentle touch of his hands on her shoulders and back, the languid way her body melted in the heat—
Under it all, Yeohui’s eyelids began to droop.
She quickly snapped them open.
She couldn’t fall asleep here.
“At the time, the Crown Prince’s aide was in mortal danger. That night became the start of our bond. I became his informant outside the palace, foiling every secret plot his enemies made under cover of night.
Thanks to me, the Crown Prince ascended the throne safely. Afterward, the new king insisted on bringing me into the palace. He said he had no one else he could trust. He begged me to stay by his side, day and night.
And so I decided. If someone needed me that desperately, I wanted to be there. I quit the Secret Police and entered the palace as a eunuch.”
Sooyoon laughed quietly, recalling the past.
Now that he thought about it, it had been a long time ago.
“I became a eunuch not because I wanted to, but because I had no other choice. I wasn’t a noble, so I couldn’t hold office. I couldn’t become a military officer, so I couldn’t serve as a royal guard. The only way to stay by His Majesty’s side, day and night, without ever leaving—was to become a eunuch. So I entered the palace with my testicles and penis fully intact.”
Here, Sooyoon paused. He’d confessed it as naturally as he could.
He’d agonized over when to tell her—when to admit that he actually had both testicles and a fully functioning penis. But now felt like the perfect moment.
Yet Yeohui wasn’t reacting.
“Wife? My lady? Why no answer?”
Was she too shocked to speak? Or too stunned?
“Say something…”
Then her head suddenly dropped forward.
“Lady? Yeohui? Darling?”
Sooyoon leaned in, alarmed.
She had fallen asleep.
Of course. The hot water had relaxed her body so completely that she’d drifted off.
Watching her breathe softly, fast asleep, Sooyoon couldn’t help but laugh.
He’d come all this way, poured out his past with such sincerity—and the woman he was confessing to had fallen asleep.
“How much did she hear?”
How much had reached her? Would he have to explain it all again tomorrow? And if so, where would he start?
How embarrassing it is to dredge up the past—only to have to do it all over again. Truly, what a shameless wife I have.
But how could he blame her? If anyone was at fault, it was him—for tiring her so thoroughly that she fell asleep in the bath.
If anyone was to blame, it was him—for making her trust him so completely that she could fall asleep, her body entrusted to him, right here in the tub.
“Thank you… for walking into my life.”
She had once said: Coincidence is just the result of the path you’ve walked.
He didn’t know if that was truly how fate worked.
But he was grateful—so deeply grateful—that this lovely woman had walked into his life.
Thankfully, the woman who had once saved him had offered her daughter as his wife—a way to repay his debt.
If not for that, he might have lived his whole life never knowing such a woman existed.
Thankfully, the king had granted them three days.
If not, he might have gone through the motions of marriage, fulfilled his duty with arrogance, and never taken the time to truly know this beautiful woman.
Everything was a blessing.
“My sweet wife—how am I to handle a woman who sleeps so much? On our wedding night, she drank all the wine and fell asleep. Now, in the bathhouse, she’s used my confession as a lullaby. To have married such a sleepy wife… I suppose I’ve become a happy man indeed. But what am I to do with you?”
Even as he said it, Sooyoon’s lips and eyes never stopped smiling.
It was the helpless, joyful smile of a man utterly overcome by happiness.
